Set three years after the events of the first season, Season 2 sees Gi-hun forsake the chance to leave for the United States with his daughter and return to the Squid Game to thwart the malicious activities of those behind the dangerous high-stakes tournament.

What happens at the end of Squid Game Season 2?
At the end of Squid Game Season 2, the majority of the participants vote to continue the games. However, the vote ends up getting a 50-50 tie between those in favor of continuing and those against it. This leads to a revote scheduled for the following day.
Anticipating a violent skirmish and bloodbath at night, Gi-hun convinces his allies to hide under their bunks. They do so to stay protected from the opposing team, who seek to thin out their ranks. Gi-hun, also anticipating the Masked Men’s intervention, has himself and his allies play dead, so they can ambush them when they arrive.
Once the Masked Men arrive to check on Gi-hun and his group, they wake up and attack them, stealing their weapons. They then make their getaway for the control room, only to be cornered by the Masked Men.
Does Seong Gi-hun live or die in Squid Game Season 2?
Seong Gi-hun survives at the end of Squid Game Season 2.
However, the majority of Gi-hun’s team members end up dying after being confronted and attacked by the Masked Men. Moreover, Young-il, who was allied with Gi-hun, is soon revealed to be his main enemy, the Front Man. He uses his walkie to trick Gi-hun into thinking he is dead, before confronting him. Young-il then fatally shoots Jung-bae, but spares Gi-hun’s life, departing as the latter cries and mourns his friend’s loss.
