Universal Pictures has announced the Wicked 4K & Blu-ray release date, revealing when fans will be able to check out the home release of the hit movie musical.
When is the Wicked 4K & Blu-ray release date?
Wicked will release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on February 4, 2025. However, fans can get access to the movie at home earlier, as the musical will be available exclusively on digital platforms to purchase or rent beginning on December 31, 2024.
To celebrate the announcement, a new video highlighting the film’s home release is out now, and can be seen below:
Alongside the release information, Universal Pictures also revealed the litany of extra content that will be available on the film’s physical release. This includes the sing-along version of the film, various deleted and extra scenes, and other behind-the-scenes content. The full list of extras available at participating retailers include:
- Sing Along – Alternate Feature-Length Version – Rejoicify, it’s your turn to sing your way through Oz! Sing-along to all of your favorite Wicked songs as you join Elphaba and Glinda on their magical journey.

Wicked is directed by Jon M. Chu from a screenplay written by the musical’s book writer Winnie Holzman. It is based on Maguire’s bestselling novel and the Tony-winning stage musical.
The ensemble cast is led by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who play Galinda Upland and Elphaba Thropp in the film, respectively. The rest of the cast includes Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero Tigelaar, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz, Peter Dinklage as Doctor Dillamond, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Keala Settle as Miss Coddle, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp, Bronwyn James as ShenShen, Ethan Slater as Boq, and more.
The film’s sequel, Wicked: For Good, is currently set for November 21, 2025.
