Sean “Diddy” Combs and Luigi Mangione are currently being held on separate floors at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after facing serious charges.
Prison consultant Sam Mangel told Page Six that Mangione is being held in the Special Housing Unit (SHU), a form of solitary confinement, as part of an ongoing observation process. Mangel further stated that Mangione has not yet been moved into the general population, where Sean Combs is held.
However they “will be on the same floor together at some point,” Mangel said.
Mangione, 26, accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in a daylight shooting on December 4, was extradited to New York from Pennsylvania last week. After being indicted for first-degree murder, he faces additional federal charges, including murder and stalking.
Mangione pleaded not guilty to the charges, with his next court appearance set for February 21.
Combs, 55, was arrested on September 16 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution, following an extensive federal investigation into his alleged involvement in organising illicit “Freak-Offs” over the past two decades.
The founder of Bad Boy Records has pleaded not guilty to the accusations and will remain incarcerated until his trial in May 2025. Earlier this month, he voluntarily dismissed his third attempt to appeal for bail.
